Developing Supplier Diversity Award

This new category recognises and celebrates the work of organisations who not only embrace the principles of supplier diversity and inclusion, but work to embed it into the fabric of their procurement activity.

Applicants can choose to focus on a specific project or initiative, or on the overarching approach they undertake across their procurement activity.

This award is intended to showcase public sector bodies that have engaged successfully with all types of supplier, helping not only to create a fairer and more equitable society, but also unleashing talent and innovation that creates better public services.

Open to: Public sector organisations.

Timescale: A GO Awards submission in this category must cover activity during the period January 2022 to October 2023.

Background

Please describe how your organisation undertook the inclusion and effective management of diverse suppliers as part of your procurement process. Please include details of why this approach was chosen, the aims and deliverables that were desired and the critical success factors to successful delivery.

Ensuring the inclusion and effective management of diverse suppliers as a part of the sourcing and procurement process is not just the right thing to do, but is also hugely beneficial to organisations. Whilst supplier diversity can bring savings and efficiencies, many organisations do not know where to start in building a diverse supply chain, nor do they know what a good diverse supply chain looks like. (This answer will not be scored)
